ABOUT WAVERLEY LITTLE ATHLETICS CENTRE
Little Athletics is a Centre based Track & Field competition for children aged between 5 and 16. For more details check out What is Little Athletics? or download flyer.
Summer Season runs from Oct to March. Winter Season (Cross Country) runs from April to August.
Waverley Little Athletics Centre is based at Central Reserve Athletics Track in Glen Waverley, is affiliated with Little Athletics Victoria and is part of the Southern Metropolitan Region (SMR). Not near Glen Waverley? Find your nearest Centre.
Little Athletics is a volunteer run, community based, non profit organisation providing athletic opportunities for our children. Our motto is Family, Fun, Fitness. We aim to strike a balance between development, competition and having fun. Little Athletics is one of the few sports where parents can become fully involved in their child's sporting interests. Our centre has an enthusiastic committee responsible for organising the centre, and we need parents to help out on Saturday mornings at the events.
On Sat mornings, the children go around in their age groups and compete in 4 - 6 different athletic events each week, with an emphasis on personal bests and learning athletic skills and improving techniques. Extra coaching available mid-week.
WAVERLEY - A CHILD SAFE CENTRE
WLAC is a Child Safe Centre. Kids, we expect you to enjoy doing athletics in a fun, safe environment with your friends.
We follow all LAVic and Child Safe Guidelines to ensure the safety and security of our children.
For more information, please visit our Child Safe Organisation page.

23/04/2025 - Week 1 - Cross Country Sat 26th April.
16/04/2025 - Vale Life Members Ed Chinery & Tony McMahon.
Our Life Members are those who go above and beyond in their service to our Little Athletics Centre, making it the best place to be.
Thus it was sad to hear two of our Life Members passing away recently, Ed Chinery (Dec 2024) and Tony McMahon (April 2025) and we pass on our condolences to their families.
Ed was involved in the centre in the late 1990's / early 2000's, covering a number of roles including President.
Tony started his involvement in the 1970's during the early years, again covering many roles including President.
You can read all about their achievements and service, not only at our centre but also at region and state levels: https://www.waverleylac.com.au/show-honourboard
Ed and Tony so well deserved their awards.
