Little Athletics is a Centre based Track & Field competition for children aged between 5 and 15. For more details check out What is Little Athletics?
Waverley Little Athletics Centre is based at Central Reserve Athletics Track in Glen Waverley, is affiliated with Little Athetics Victoria and is part of the Southern Metropolitan Region (SMR). Not near Glen Waverley? Find your nearest Centre.
Because Little Athletics is a totally voluntary organisation, the Centre cannot operate without the assistance of parents each week in fulfilling the many and varied duties required. These include officiating at an event; managing an age group; recording results; working in the canteen; to name just a few. Additional assistance is always required on the Centre committees and all parents are encouraged to become involved. Little Athletics is one of the few sports where parents can become fully involved in their child's sporting interests.

Morning to all our fabulous WLAC families,
Welcome to Week 3 of season 2019/20, the program is being fine tuned and will be available first thing in the morning.
Tomorrow morning set-up is from 7:30am, this week Under 8s parents are on duty to help set-up, we will need 3-4 at minimum to get the arena ready for competition. As always, many hands make light work so please don't leave everything to others to do.
Here is the link for the parent duty roster.
A reminder to parents / Age Group Leaders about safety around the track:
parents are responsible for the supervision of their kids (especially younger ones), do not walk across sprint track, be careful walking across long jump runways, discus and shot put areas, athletes need to stand right back, crossing circular track – look both ways.
Bring a friend day is on Sat 26th Oct, further details to come.
Hopefully the weather is on our side tomorrow, I will be absent at this stage, but our fantastic President, Dylan will provide his dulcet tones to entertain you.

04/10/2019 - Week 1 - 2019/20
Yes Yes Welcome Back!!!
Morning to All our wonderful WLAC Families.
Welcome back to all the returning athletes, and welcome to all our new families and friends.
Week 1 competition starts tomorrow morning, please see the attached program. It is just a light program this week to ease everyone back into the season.
Set-up is from 7:30 each Saturday, tomorrow can I ask for anyone available to help set up from 7:30am. Each week moving forward I will nominate a different age group to help with set up. I need 3-4 parent helpers each week to help get set up for competition each week. The more the better, many hands make light work, and make the program run smoothly.
Please remember to bring a hat and plenty of water for each athlete.
Each week, we require plenty of parent helpers to help our Age Group Leaders out with running events. Simple things like recording results, raking sandpits, marking a throw or jump, or keeping the athletes entertained in between events. It's an all hands on deck mentality, and as a volunteer-run club, we rely on your help to make the morning run.
Each athlete requires a parent or guardian to be in attendance whilst competition is on, in case of emergency. Please remember this.
All athletes are required to wear their registration patches at all times during competition, no patch, no results will be recorded. The patches will be handed out by Age Group Leaders tomorrow morning. For any COme and Try athletes, or late registrations, please see our Registrar, Neetasha in the clubrooms ASAP tomorrow morning. The Committee will be visible by our red shirts, please feel free to chat to us with any questions.
Warm-up starts at 8:45am sharp!! Competition will commence at 9am sharp!!
I will see you all for set-up from 7:30am for set-up tomorrow morning.
