Week 17 - Saturday 13 February 2016

News - 2015/2016

Good evening all, I hope you're enjoying your week. How good has the weather been?? Not to hot for the return to school.
This Saturday is one of our last rounds of competition for the season and we will be using Program 2

Peter Cooke is back as our designated First Aid Officer so thank you again Peter. A big thank you to Mary-Jane Clarke for doing the role last week!
Craig Bonney will be absent this week, so Greg will need some assistance with the circular track timing.

RELAYTHON
Last weekend we completed just over 100 laps which was a terrific effort by everyone involved. We will let you know how much we raised for the Royal Children's Hospital Appeal, however if you didn't donate you still may do so this weekend. Special mention to Harmony (U9) and Dylan (U6) for being so keen to run laps! Also to our parents Richard Dennehy and Mark Dobson for showing a 'quickish' pair of heels over 1 lap - dare I say it, but shades of Ron Clarke!

REGION TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPS
As you know these are being held at Caulfield next weekend. Athletes/parents, please ensure that the correct uniform is worn, noting specifically;
- Orange Jetstar logo must be sewn onto your Waverley top
- Black shorts/tights only - no pockets, no logos, nothing below the knee
If you need a Jetstar patch or Waverley top, please see Katy in the club rooms before 9am this Saturday.

Positions for general officials are in the process of being filled however we need more help. We have 30 time slots to fill over the weekend, so if your child is competing and you haven't offered to officiate I will be contacting you shortly. I will have the roster there this Saturday at the sign in table, so please make my job easier by putting your name down. Note that I will be there from 6.15am at the Championships for the whole weekend until stumps!

PRESENTATION DAY/AGM
This will be held on Saturday 5 March from 10am, at the Club Rooms. Nomination forms are available for anyone wanting to join the Committee - all Committee positions are open for re-election. Note there is no competition that day.
Key presentations will be held first before breaking for the AGM, and then followed by Age Group Awards.

Note that we need a quorum before the AGM can proceed, so if you are a voting member, I strongly encourage you to attend.

NEXT WEEK
Our last twilight program for the season will be held on Thursday 18 February commencing at 6pm (warm up at 5.45pm). No competition that weekend due to Region Champs.

As always if any queries, please let me know.

Regards
Darren Watts
Arena Manager
