Welcome to Week 10 - Saturday 5 December

News - 2015/2016

As Christmas fast approaches (does that mean I have to do my Christmas shopping?!), this week we are going to be conducting Program 1. I was planning to hold the Walks/400m program, however our Chief Walks Judge Gordon is unavailable, due to the All Schools Championships in Melbourne this weekend.
Speaking of All Schools, on behalf of the club, I wish Sophie O'Sullivan all the best in the 800m and 1500m events that she is contesting in the U16 Age Group.

WAVERLEY GAMES DAY
Medals for all age groups will be presented this Saturday during the course of the program. If you missed out on a participant ribbon last week, please speak to your Age Group Leader.

STATE MULTI-EVENT CHAMPIONSHIPS
Open to all athletes from U9-U15, this is being held on the last weekend in January, in Bendigo. If you are interested, please visit the LaVic website (www.lavic.com.au) to obtain more information. I will be the Team Manager for this event. Fees are are follows.

Early Bird Fee: $30 per entrant (+IMG Processing Fee) before 20 December 2015 @ 11:59pm
Standard Fee: $50 per entrant  (+IMG Processing Fee) from 21 December 2015

TRAINING
Due to the hot weather on Monday, training with Simone will NOT be going ahead at this stage - I will advise if this changes. For anyone interested in distance training, next week's session with Sonia O'Sullivan has been moved from Wednesday to Monday night - which could also be cancelled if the weather is hot.

LOST PROPERTY
A pair of black ladies glasses in a kidney shaped case were lost at the Games Day last weekend. If you have picked them up, please contact the Committee.
Please also check lost property for any items that may belong to you. At season's end any remaining items will be donated to charity.

CHEST PATCHES
Please note that all athletes are required to wear their 'Subway' chest patches to compete. If you have left it at home, a temporary patch can be obtained from our Secretary, Katy Smith before competition commences - a gold coin donation to the Royal Children's Hospital is required.

VOLUNTEERS
I would like to acknowledge the fantastic work of our volunteers, especially our Committee, where a lot of work behind the scenes goes unnoticed. If you would like to contribute to the running of the club, you can, by joining the Committee!! - our AGM is only a few months away (where a new committee is inducted), so any new blood now is always needed.

UPCOMING EVENTS
After this Saturday there are only 2 more competition days before we break for Christmas

THURSDAY 10th DECEMBER - Twilight
SATURDAY 12th DECEMBER - State Relays @ Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park
SATURDAY 19th DECEMBER - Christmas program with parent races and maybe a special visitor!

See you all on Saturday! Please let me know if you cannot make it if you are a key official.
