Congratulations to Ashleigh Morley, Sophie O'Sullivan, Nela Debicki and Marcus Thong for representing Waverley in the SMR (Region) team, at the Little Athletics Victoria 50th Year Region Challenge and Open Day, Sunday 20th October 2013 at Landy Field Athletics Track, Geelong.

Well done to Thisen Jayasekara & Sarah Morley for entering in the Open Day event and representing Waverley. It was great to see both of you in our new Uniforms!

The day was a huge success. I had the pleasure of being involved in this celebration as a Key Official in the Call Room and although I didn't get to see much of the days action (because the Call Room was behind all the trees), what I did see was fantastic. It was such a great, relaxed carnival like atmosphere and all the athletes who came through the Call Room were enjoying themselves and having a good time.

All of the Regions set up their tents along the 200m bend and it looked simply awesome! Each Region has a colour and it just brightened up the atmosphere of the venue.

Yes, there were times that the weather couldn't make up it's mind - hot one minute, spitting rain the next. But that didn't stop anyone from enjoying themselves.

Congratulations to Gippsland for winning the overall Region Challenge.
