Ex Waverley Little Athlete Brendan Cole (left) has been selected to represent Australia at the upcoming London Olympic Games to be held during July 2012.  Brendan ran a sensational 49.39 in his 400mh in horrible wet and windy conditions at the Melbourne Track Classic on Friday night to gain automatic selection.  This ticks the off the last "wish list box" of acheivements for Brendan as an athlete (apart from an Olympic Medal of course), and has taken dedication, commitment and a huge effort over more than 10 years.  Brendan has also been a regular starter in recent years at the Stawell gift in all events up to 400m !   ATHLETE PROFILE from the Athletics Australia website , Brendan's training squad MattyB DEPT & his BLOG (a very interesting read)
