Congratulations to the Victorian Team for their awesome result at the Australian Little Athletics Teams Championships last Sunday 26th April. Heading over to Adelaide, we were really “up against it” with the known performances of the NSW squad looking very daunting. To the credit of the entire Vic Team, the kids hit the ground running hard with some inspiring early performances that “set the tone for the rest of the day”. Everyone grew an inch or so taller and were so focused on the job at hand. The Vics also had the advantage of the best and loudest supporter group at the venue, which culminated at the Celebration dinner later that night where over 100 Team Vic attended.

Waverley’s last Victorian team representative was Emma Bellenger who in 2006 was one of the u15 Multi Event athletes that travelled to Canberra. We have some extremely talented kids within our Centre that should be inspired to strive towards selection in this team. After spending 5 years as a HJ coach to this squad, I was this year selected to the Management Team of 5 (my position within the group being the boys coach). All I can say is that it was the best experience ever …… and to the youngsters at Waverley ……. Dare to Dream !!!!! Lindsay Harrison Results and pics here!
