News - 2010/2011

Regions have been "run & won"   I did say rain, hail or shine (well we only just avoided hail !).  All our athletes competed exceptionally well filling far more than our fair share of podium positions, and at the same time we "un-earthed" some "surprises" across a number of events who will now set themselves for a crack at the State Championships in 4 weeks !

Thanks to our ever reliable team of parents who kept our kids in tip top shape and raring to go and for their committment to duty which included some rather heavy downpours of rain (all without complaint) !

Special thank you's to our very organised group of Team Managers/Duty co-ordinators and an extra special thanks to Michael Verni for filling the Cheif TJ Official role on Saturday morning (even though his children weren't competing !!)

Automatic qualifiers are the 1st placings only (of which we already have 26 Golds) ..... so you all know who you are .  "Progressions" (or qualifiers based on performance) to make up the full field of 24 in all events (except for 800m - 16).

State Qualifiers are now available.  In a nutshell, 39 athletes (20 girls & 19 boys) will represent Waverley at Olympic Park 19/20 March.  They have qualified across 94 events (some in the maximum of 4 events allowed).
